In early 2006, my life was going nowhere. Working in a dead end job and reeling from a failed marriage and a sense that the life I had envisioned was rapidly slipping through my fingers, I resolved to take the reins and begin living my life with valor.

My journey of reclamation brought me from Northern New England to the Southwest Border where I became an award winning Special Agent for the U.S. Government, a long distance endurance athlete and a fitness industry entrepreneur. After more than 15 years traveling the globe, taking on some of the world’s most notorious criminal organizations, racing some of the world’s hardest endurance events, and helping thousands of men and women achieve their fitness goals, my mission today is to help other men find their purpose, achieve their objectives, maximize their lives and become more indispensable to their families, communities and workplaces.

Through my podcast, The Indispensable Man, my book, Indispensable: A Tactical Plan for the Modern Man and my public speaking, and coaching programs, I share my journey from insignificant to indispensable while providing valuable mindset, leadership tools, tactics and advice that I cultivated along the way to help others turn their obstacles into opportunities, achieve their personal and professional goals and build the lives they’ve imagined.

I currently reside in the Houston area with my wife and daughters where I own several businesses in the coaching, training and security consulting arenas.

As the Co-Owner of Team Healey, LLC, I mentor and coach men in one-on-one and group settings to help them maximize their lives and achieve their objectives so that they can become more indispensable men to their families, communities and workplaces. I provide one-on-one Personal Development and Leadership Coaching, one-on-one Fitness and Nutrition Coaching, Group Masterclasses and Men’s Mastermind programs.

In my law enforcement career and in my personal life, I have always been an empathetic teacher and coach. From years of patiently teaching defensive tactics, firearms instruction and investigative skills to academy students and colleagues, to more than a decade as a triathlon coach, running coach and personal trainer coaching athletes across finish lines and onto stages, helping my students and athletes achieve mastery, and crush their goals, has always brought me joy.

My experience in demanding, fast paced and rapidly evolving environments where I led high performing teams taking on some of the world’s most notorious criminal organizations taught me valuable lessons in leadership, mindset and tactics that were the key to my professional success, and my years racing Ironman and ultramarathons taught me the ability to endure and the value of tenacity. As a Texas licensed Private Investigator, and the Owner and CEO of Black Bear Security Consultants, LLC, I provide investigative services, litigation support and expert witness testimony on matters involving money laundering, wire and mail fraud schemes, tele-fraud, stored value card abuse, elder exploitation, employee misconduct investigations and other related matters.

Through Black Bear Security Consultants, LLC, I also provide fractional Chief Security Officer services to small businesses and online entrepreneurs under the dba, ‘The Secure Entrepreneur.’ These services include consultation, security and risk assessments, crisis management planning, business impact analysis, business continuity planning, fraud prevention training, management training, human resources support, policy and procedure development, litigation support and situational awareness and preparedness training.

During my time as a Special Agent, I served in my agency’s Major Fraud and Corruption Unit, served on various federal task forces, testified in state and federal criminal proceedings as a Subject Matter Expert on tele-fraud, elder exploitation and AML issues, and was a featured speaker at law enforcement and industry conferences and training academies, as well as an overseas representative on behalf of the U.S. Government.

My criminal investigative work has been featured in national media profiles and my work investigating the India based call center networks targeting American citizens was the subject of a Campside Media/Sony Music serial podcast Chameleon: Scam Likely chronicling my team’s identification, arrest and extradition of the originator of the IRS telephone scam.
